The Velvet Royale Ottoman Bed is our richest velvet finish - a dense, deep-pile plush that shifts tone as light moves across it, over a generously padded headboard and side rails. A fully opening gas-lift base keeps the practicality out of sight.
Who it suits
For buyers who want velvet at its most substantial. The pile here is deeper than on our Majestic Velvet, and the padding extends to the side rails rather than the headboard alone - which is the difference between the two, along with £20. Choose the Majestic if saturated colour is the draw; choose this if it is the depth and movement of the fabric itself. Deep-pile velvet shows pressure marks and needs vacuuming with the pile to keep the nap even.

Fabric and upholstery
Upholstered by hand and finished so that no stitching is visible anywhere on the bed upholstery - on deep-pile velvet a seam is unmistakable, because the nap catches light differently either side of it. Plush is the deep-pile velvet shown; Naple (flatter woven finish) and Conniston (heavier textured weave) are also available.
Mattress compatibility
Takes any standard UK mattress in the matching size. A mattress is not included. See our mattress range.
Storage
The platform lifts as one piece over an uninterrupted cavity, so long items fit whole rather than being split between drawers.
Assembly
Arrives flat-packed. One to two hours with two people; two are needed for the gas struts. See the assembly guide.
