The Signature Sleep Ottoman Bed is built around how it performs rather than how much wall it fills - a tall padded headboard, a firm even slatted platform, and a quiet smooth gas lift over a full base of storage.
Who it suits
The frame to choose if a previous bed sagged in the middle or creaked. The platform is firm and evenly slatted, which is what keeps a mattress performing as it was designed to, and the lift is deliberately quiet. It shares its build quality with the Signature Elite but has a shorter headboard for £120 less - so if the hotel-height look is not the draw, this is the better value of the two.

Mattress platform sizes are standard UK:
- Single - 90cm wide x 190cm long (3ft x 6ft3)
- Small Double - 120cm wide x 190cm long (4ft x 6ft3)
- Double - 135cm wide x 190cm long (4ft6 x 6ft3)
- King - 150cm wide x 200cm long (5ft x 6ft6)
- Super King - 180cm wide x 200cm long (6ft x 6ft6)

Fabric and upholstery
Upholstered by hand and finished so that no stitching is visible anywhere on the bed upholstery. Choose Plush (short-pile velvet), Naple (flatter woven finish) or Conniston (heavier textured weave).
Mattress compatibility
Takes any standard UK mattress in the matching size. A mattress is not included. Complete the upgrade with a pocket sprung mattress - and note that "orthopaedic" is an unregulated term in the UK meaning simply firm.
Storage
The platform lifts as one piece over an uninterrupted cavity, so long items fit whole rather than being split between drawers.
Assembly
Arrives flat-packed. One to two hours with two people; two are needed for the gas struts. If a frame ever starts to creak, see how to stop a bed squeaking.
