The Caruo Contemporary Divan Bed is a handmade upholstered divan with a 24-inch padded headboard in plush velvet and modern, clean-lined styling, on a solid timber base available with no drawers, two drawers or four.
Who it suits
The contemporary option in our divan range, at our lowest divan price alongside the Arvell. Choose a divan if you want a low solid base with no under-bed gap and drawers you can open without lifting the mattress. If you need to store long items - suitcases, spare duvets, a folded travel cot - drawers will not take them and an ottoman bed is the right call instead.
Choosing between our divans
Our five divans share the same 24-inch headboard height, the same solid timber construction and the same drawer options, so the decision is the headboard design in the photographs. Arvell is the same price with a more traditional line; Cianoi and Bellun add a left or right two-drawer choice for a little more.

Divan base sizes are standard UK:
- Single - 90cm wide x 190cm long (3ft x 6ft3)
- Small Double - 120cm wide x 190cm long (4ft x 6ft3)
- Double - 135cm wide x 190cm long (4ft6 x 6ft3)
- King - 150cm wide x 200cm long (5ft x 6ft6)
- Super King - 180cm wide x 200cm long (6ft x 6ft6)

Fabric and upholstery
Upholstered by hand and finished so that no stitching is visible anywhere on the bed upholstery, which keeps the clean contemporary lines unbroken. Choose Plush (short-pile velvet), Naple (flatter woven finish) or Conniston (heavier textured weave).
Mattress compatibility
Takes any standard UK mattress in the matching size, and will accept a separate headboard if you prefer to fit your own. A mattress is not included. See our mattress range.
Storage
Drawers open without disturbing the mattress, which makes them easier for everyday items than an ottoman - but the space is divided, so long items will not fit. Two drawers sit on one side; four give you both. Read ottoman vs divan storage compared.
