Little Dreamer Kids Bed

The Little Dreamer Kids Bed is a handmade upholstered children's bed with a softly padded headboard and a low frame that a child can climb in and out of unaided. A gas-lift ottoman storage version is available.

Who it suits

A long-term bed rather than a novelty one. The design is deliberately plain, so it still looks right when a six-year-old becomes a twelve-year-old and the dinosaur bedding goes - which is the practical argument for an upholstered bed over a themed one. The low height suits children who are past a toddler bed and want to get in and out on their own.

Single is the usual choice for a child's room, but the frame is made in all standard UK sizes:

• Single - 90cm wide x 190cm long (3ft x 6ft3)
• Small Double - 120cm wide x 190cm long (4ft x 6ft3)
• Double - 135cm wide x 190cm long (4ft6 x 6ft3)
• King - 150cm wide x 200cm long (5ft x 6ft6)
• Super King - 180cm wide x 200cm long (6ft x 6ft6)

Fabric and upholstery

Upholstered by hand and finished so that no stitching is visible anywhere on the bed upholstery. Choose Plush (short-pile velvet), Naple (flatter woven finish), Conniston (heavier textured weave) or Teddy bouclé. For a child's room, the flatter Naple and Conniston weaves tend to wear better than a pile fabric.

Mattress compatibility

The slatted base takes any standard UK mattress in the matching size. A mattress is not included. See our mattress range.

Storage

The standard frame has no under-bed storage. The gas-lift ottoman version lifts the whole platform for storage across the full footprint - useful in a child's room for toys and bulky bedding. Note that a child should not operate a gas-lift platform unsupervised.

Assembly

Arrives flat-packed with instructions. Two people recommended, and genuinely required for the gas-lift version.
